Story:

In an article published in 2014 by the Herald Leader , Alexis Meza an intern and advocate for immigrant youth & co founder of Kentucky dream Coalition recounts the dangers & fear of the desert by sharing her story. As a nine year old she recalls leaving home with her mother & brother, taking only a small diaper bag with limes, crackers & a blanket. Her 13 hour walk across the desert with no water and howling animals in the dark felt tiresome & unbearable but risking their life in hopes of attaining a better future and the American dream was motivation to keep going. She shares the many awkward challenges she faced as a teenager being undocumented. As they trodded in a desert full of plant and animal species that found ways to survive the harsh environment, Alexis and her family held faithfully to the hope of surviving their journey to the United States, the place of better opportunities and where if you work hard you can accomplish your dreams.

Hand-poured into apothecary inspired amber jars with our signature black label and a gold lid. This is our most popular size and is meant for dressers, countertops, nightstands – basically everywhere.

Burns for 40-50 hours. 2.9” in diameter and 3.5" in height.

Tips + Tricks:

• Trim your candle's wick to 1/4" before each lighting or once your candle has cooled.
• Never attempt to trim a burning candle.
• Discard the snipped portion in the trash; never leave wick trimmings in your candle jar.
• The wick should always remain centered and away from the sides of the vessel.
• Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar during each burn to prevent tunneling.
• Once the candle's gone, we hope you'll re-use it. Clean it out and you've got a new planter or pencil holder – or whatever you want!
